CURRENT OUTLOOK: IBD says "markets in a correction"
February
5, 2010: NASDAQ GAINS 0.7% ON BIG VOLUME - REMAINS UNDER ITS
100-DAY LINE. The
index
is "bearishly" below its 100 & 50-day moving
averages. Caution is advised. NOTE: This is day 1 of an attempted
rally. A follow-through day could come as early at Wednesday.
MONSTER
STOCK TALK: Dow rallies 110 points in the last 10 minutes of trading
but indexes make lower lows. Gold and commodity stocks were strong.
Buyers stepped in to support stocks today. We could see further
strength next week but this correction is far from over. Trina Solar
vaulted 7.6% and holds above its 20-day line but under its 50-day line.
Gold miners (GDX) jumped 5.6% and reversed higher on strong volume but
still remains under its 200-day line. Freeport McMoran Gold &
Copper ramped up 5.2% bouncing off its 200-day line on volume.
Baidu.com gained 1.8% on increasing volume. Apple added 1.8% holding
above the $190 area and appears to be forming a bottom. Google and
Amazon were slightly higher but remain below their 200-day lines.
